The Influence of Telenovelas on Society

     Telenovelas are full of drama, love, scandal, and all other sorts of emotional appeals. While some people are drawn to the lust and love of a show, others might be drawn in by the build and suspense. Regardless of what a particular audience members appeal is, no one is immune to the telenovelas genre as there is an appeal for everyone. Given that telenovelas connect with all sorts of people with different backgrounds and environmental conditioning, they are also going to influence people differently. Telenovelas are fictional fantasy dramas that are widely popular across the globe. People grow up with these in their lives so they have direct influences on its audience members. Telenovelas fed on peoples desire for drama and suspense. If audience members view telenovelas all throughout their childhood, they might believe that life is an actual telenovela. Perhaps socially this is a driving factor behind the actions and intentions of many in our world, with telenovelas but all dramas in general. People become attracted to the drama and fantasy in the show and then implement their desires on the actual world. This could be subconsciously or consciously but watching telenovelas or any sort of media influences its audience to some extent. Not everyone has the same take aways but everyone does have some sort of take away. Given that telenovelas heightens human emotions throughout the show, people might start to behave and rationalize like a character. People tend to reference media as support and identity with a particular film, character or group and there is no difference with a telenovela.
